An electrical panel label is more than an organising detail. In RES, HES, energy-reactor, transformer and automation systems, it presents line, supply, device and direction information clearly for operation, maintenance and intervention.
Clear identification in energy and automation panels
Heat, intensive use, cleaning and field conditions can challenge the legibility of panel information. For this reason, an electrical panel label for a transformer, RES or automation panel must be planned with its material, production method and mounting method—not only its text.
Line names, supply points, reactor stages, breaker data and device functions should follow the project coding system and be sized for the actual reading distance. For complete front-surface projects, see our control and command panel solutions.

The difference of two-layer ABS / resopal labels
We use imported two-layer ABS sheets for these projects. With ABS and resopal labels, the laser removes the upper layer in a controlled way and reveals the contrasting lower layer. Text and graphics therefore emerge from the material structure itself rather than from a paint applied afterwards.
This delivers a high-contrast identification solution without a paint-fading risk. The site, temperature, chemical exposure and surface type are assessed for each project before thickness and dimensions are chosen.
Clear, repeatable data through laser cutting and engraving
Laser marking and engraving helps reproduce the same typeface, symbol and size throughout a production run. Text, arrows, numbers, warning symbols and project codes can be arranged around the panel layout.

Mounting without drilling with 3M double-sided tape
To avoid unnecessary holes in panels, labels can be supplied with 3M-brand double-sided tape. On suitable surfaces, this allows mounting without additional mechanical intervention and makes application easier for the customer.
A clean, dry and appropriate surface is important before mounting. Panel finish, operating temperature, texture and label size determine whether a taped application is suitable; alternatives can be planned at quotation stage.

Selecting labels for heat and field conditions
A heat-resistant label requirement cannot be defined by a temperature value alone. Continuous or peak heat, UV, humidity, oils, cleaning chemicals, panel paint and mechanical contact must be assessed together. These details clarify whether ABS or a metal label is the better option.
Send a panel photo, label list, dimensions and application conditions. We can identify the suitable production and mounting solution, and review a sample when needed.
What to send for a quotation
- Label list, variable text and project codes
- Dimensions, quantity, colour and mounting surface
- Use area in an RES, HES, transformer, power plant or automation panel
- Temperature, humidity, chemical exposure and outdoor conditions
- Mounting preference: 3M tape, holes, screws or another method
- Any logo, symbol, drawing or panel photograph

Frequently asked questions
Why does lettering on laser-engraved ABS panel labels not fade?
The laser removes the top layer of the two-layer ABS sheet and reveals the contrasting lower layer. Because lettering and graphics are not subsequently applied as paint, paint-fading risk is avoided.
Which panels can use these labels?
They can identify lines, supplies, devices, directions and safety information in RES, HES, energy-reactor, transformer, power-plant, automation, distribution and control panels.
Can a 3M-taped panel label be mounted without drilling?
With suitable surface preparation and operating conditions, a 3M double-sided-tape label can be mounted without new holes. The surface, temperature and mounting requirement should be reviewed first.
Which panel label should be selected for high temperatures?
Material must be selected according to temperature, surface, chemical exposure and mounting method. Share the application conditions so we can recommend ABS, metal or another solution, with a sample when appropriate.
